In July 2001, Fairfax Pacific Limited was commissioned by Endemol USA to build a dream home for the reality television show, "Under one roof". The house was built in ten weeks and is located in Koro Island which is the sixth largest island of Fiji`s 333 islands. We have placed a traditional roof on a modern building. The main living room has a huge open living space with a height of over 40 feet to the top of the ridge of the house. There are many customized features in the house including inside outside bathrooms with glass wall interiors and Teak floors. Custom clam shell light fittings, a range of Fijian hardwoods used throughout together with river stone which has been used for landscaping and for feature tile. A 60 foot jetty with a traditional Fijian thatched building on the end was also constructed to enable boat access at both high and low tides. The house is powered by solar panels, and 2 x two thousand gallon water tanks supply water which is gravity fed to the house for pressure. Simple but efficient.
